What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

When their partner stirs might find the Saatva transfers more movement than ideal, individuals who are easily woken up Individuals who like the hug of memory foam might not feel the Saatva adheres closely adequate The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company variation.
Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions below. We prepare to check the brand-new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove practical if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs alter over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, however it provides a flexible cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
These mattresses were also examined in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of professionals in the mattress market and in products science; checked out dozens of mattress stores, showrooms, and factories; and pored over the great print on specs, warranties, and return policies.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column support”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
